Bookings & quotes
All wedding and sitting bookings begin with an enquiry and a quote. A request submitted through the website is not a confirmed booking — a booking is confirmed only once we accept it and any required payment has been received by the due date.
Quotes are valid for 7 days. Prices depend on hours, travel, the number of dogs and any add-ons such as overnight sitting or honeymoon care. Additional charges only apply where they were disclosed before booking or later agreed with you.
Deposits & payment
Wedding and event bookings reserve a specific date and handler, so the deposit stated on your invoice or otherwise advised secures the date. The balance is due by the date shown on the invoice.
Your invoice or email from us sets out the deposit, payment dates and the cancellation and postponement schedule that applies to your booking. A booking may be released if payment isn't received by the due date.
Cancellations & changes
Walks, day care and drop-in visits cancelled with at least 48 hours' notice can be moved or credited; inside 48 hours the booked fee may be charged. Boarding and house sitting cancelled within 7 days of commencement may attract a charge of up to 50% of the affected booking value. Wedding and event bookings follow the schedule stated on your invoice. Deposits for weddings and events are not refunded.
Cancellation terms compensate us for reserved capacity and preparation — they aren't penalties, and they never limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If an event is postponed we'll use reasonable efforts to transfer the booking to your new date, subject to availability.
Health, Illness and Infectious Disease
You must disclose, before booking and again before your dog enters our care, any known or suspected illness, disease, infection, medical condition, symptoms, recent exposure to an infectious or contagious disease, or other health condition that may affect your dog or pose a risk to other animals or people.
This includes, without limitation, infectious or contagious conditions, skin infections, respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal illnesses, parasites and any other condition that may reasonably create a health or welfare risk.
We reserve the right, acting reasonably and having regard to the health, safety and welfare of animals and people in our care, to refuse or cancel a booking where:
- your dog has, or is reasonably suspected of having, an infectious or contagious illness or other condition that may pose a risk to other animals or people;
- relevant health information has not been disclosed to us, or information provided to us is inaccurate or incomplete; or
- we otherwise reasonably consider that we cannot safely or appropriately care for your dog.
This right applies whether the condition is disclosed before or after a booking has been accepted.
If an illness, infection or other health concern is identified or reasonably suspected while your dog is in our care, we may isolate your dog from other animals and require you, or your nominated emergency contact, to collect your dog as soon as reasonably practicable.
Where we reasonably consider urgent veterinary assessment or treatment necessary, you authorise us to obtain veterinary care for your dog in accordance with our Veterinary Care and Emergency Treatment provisions.
If you or your nominated emergency contact fail or are unable to collect your dog within the timeframe reasonably required by us, we may arrange for your dog to be transferred to an appropriate veterinary facility, boarding facility or other suitable place of care, where reasonably necessary and permitted by law. We will take reasonable steps to contact you before arranging any such transfer, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect the health or welfare of your dog, another animal or a person.
You are responsible for reasonable veterinary, transport, alternative accommodation and other costs incurred as a result of your dog's illness, condition, non-disclosure or required removal from our care, to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in this clause limits any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Meet & greet and suitability
Every dog meets us in person or virtually before a booking is confirmed. If we believe a dog is not comfortable or safe in the environment requested — for their sake or anyone else's — we may decline or adjust the booking and refund any amount paid beyond the deposit.
Dogs must be up to date with vaccinations, flea and worm treatment. Please tell us about any bite history, anxiety, medication or dietary needs at the time of booking.
Care, transport & safety
Dogs remain on lead in public and at venues unless we've agreed otherwise in writing. Where transport is booked, dogs travel restrained and are never left unattended in a vehicle.
In the event of illness or injury we will attempt to contact you immediately and, if we can't reach you, seek veterinary treatment. You authorise reasonable veterinary care and are responsible for the cost.
Insurance & liability
Fuzzy Buddy holds public liability insurance and our handlers are police checked and pet first aid qualified. Copies are available to venues on request. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including that services are provided with due care and skill.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising solely from inherent animal behaviour, undisclosed medical or behavioural conditions, defective equipment, unsafe property conditions or events outside our reasonable control — except to the extent we caused or contributed to it. Nothing here excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Shop, shipping & returns
Bows and accessories are made in small batches and ship within 3–5 business days Australia wide. Delivery times are estimates provided by the carrier.
Custom and made-to-order pieces cannot be exchanged. Nothing here limits your rights where an item is faulty, not as described or otherwise covered by the Australian Consumer Law.
We do not offer returns or refunds for change of mind — exchange only. Unused items in original condition may be exchanged within 14 days of delivery; all postage costs relating to an exchange, both ways, are the customer's responsibility.
Photography & content
We love sharing the dogs we work with. Public marketing use of photos or event footage is based on the marketing consent you give us — you can decline without it affecting your booking, and you can withdraw consent for future use at any time in writing.
Privacy policy
We collect only what we need to provide the service: your name, contact details, your dog's details and booking information. Enquiry forms are delivered to our email inbox by Shopify and stored there.
Payments are processed by Shopify Payments and its providers — we never see or store your full card details. Our store also uses cookies to keep your cart and improve the site.
We never sell your information. We share it only where necessary to deliver the service (for example, a veterinarian in an emergency) or where required by law.
When you use our services, we may collect information about your pet, including their health, medical history, medications, vaccinations, veterinary details, behaviour and any known or suspected illnesses, infections or other conditions.
We collect and use this information where reasonably necessary to assess whether we can safely provide our services, manage bookings, protect the health and welfare of animals and people in our care, respond to illness or emergencies, and arrange veterinary or alternative care where required.
Where reasonably necessary for these purposes, we may disclose relevant information to your nominated veterinarian, an emergency veterinary provider, an alternative boarding or care provider, or another person involved in the care or collection of your pet.
Any personal information associated with these records will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing hello@fuzzybuddy.com.au.
