wedding dog handler in byron bay
Fuzzy Buddy is a wedding dog handling service that looks after your dog on your Byron Bay wedding day, from pick-up to the last photo. We're based in the Northern Rivers, a short drive from Byron, and have been caring for dogs at weddings since 2022. Your dog gets a dedicated, police checked and pet first aid qualified handler, so you can enjoy the day knowing they're in calm, capable hands.
What we do on your wedding day
- Transport – we collect your dog from home, bring them to the venue and take them home again.
- Dressing – bows, flower collars or ring pouches fitted before the ceremony.
- Ceremony roles – ring bearer, dog of honour, flower dog or a surprise guest walk.
- Photos – we hold the lead just out of frame and step out for dog-only shots.
- Cocktail hour cameo – a short appearance with your guests if you'd like.
- Overnight care – add our overnight package and pick up your dog the next morning.
Dog-friendly wedding venues around Byron Bay
Byron Bay and its hinterland have some beautiful venues that welcome dogs. These are listed as dog-friendly in wedding directories or on the venues' own sites:
- The Fig Tree, Ewingsdale – hinterland and ocean views beneath a historic fig tree.
- Byron View Farm – a hilltop estate with near 360-degree views of the hinterland and coast.
- Ewingsdale Hall – a heritage-listed hall and church just outside Byron.
- Hinterland House Byron Bay – an exclusive-use hinterland property.
- Midginbil Eco Resort – a 400-acre property in the Byron hinterland where guests stay onsite for the weekend.
Pet policies change and often depend on the space, so always confirm with your venue. If your venue is unsure about having a dog at your wedding, we're happy to speak with them directly.
Dog-friendly beaches for ceremonies and photos
Belongil Beach and the off-leash areas of Tallow Beach are popular with couples who want their dog in beach photos. Dog rules vary along each beach, so check the current council signage for the exact spot you've chosen.
Common questions
Do you charge a travel fee for Byron Bay weddings?
Byron Bay is close to our Northern Rivers base. Any travel fee depends on your venue and is always included in your quote.
What if our dog gets nervous around crowds?
We always start with a meet and greet. If a full day isn't right for your dog, we'll suggest a short ceremony cameo instead. Their comfort comes before the photos.
How early should we book?
As early as you can. We take a limited number of weddings each weekend, and 2026 and 2027 dates are open now.
